Her actions save the rat, but in doing so unleash a nightmare she is not sure of escaping. To her horror and amazement, within seconds of finding the rat hidden in an old syrup tin, she soon discovers that she can communicate, quite fluently with the rat – and vice versa. The rat explains to her that of course she can communicate with rodents – she is one herself!
